A Cup of Ethics

Coffee Co-Op

Vancouver-based coffee company Ethical Bean is truly raising the bar in environmental stewardship and entrepreneurship. 10 years in the making, the Certified B Corporation Company, consisting of only 24 employees, roasts 100% organic and Fair Trade certified coffee in its LEED certified factory. Each bag of coffee is stamped with a QR code adaptable to the Ethical Bean iPhone app, and with one scan you know exactly which co-op in Sumatra, Nicaragua, or Guatemala the beans were harvested and who treated them, who in the Vancouver headquarters handled the packaging with a full character profile, and when it is best to enjoy the coffee by. Ethical bean gives back too, providing thousands of pounds of coffee free of charge for Vancouver community events, donating funds to Child Aid to ensure Guatemalan children receive proper schooling and ample supplies, and partnering with Project Somos as they build a village also in Guatemala for children who have been orphaned. Ethical Bean is just the jolt of karma you need to start our morning.
