The Indie Beauty Expo is one of the most talked about events in the clean beauty community and I was so honored to attend for the second year in a row on behalf of Lux & Eco. Founded by celebrity aesthetician Jillian Wright, Indie Beauty allows for some of the top clean beauty brands from all over the world come and gather in one beautiful space to experience new products making changes to create safer options in the beauty industry. I was happy to run into some brands already carried on Lux & Eco including My Daughter Fragrances, Java Skincare and CV Skinlabs and so many others I’ve seen on social media but not yet had the pleasure to experience in person.
Here are some of my top finds from this year’s expo:
Vital Proteins – I’ve been eyeing this brand for quite a while now since I’ve heard such great things about taking collagen for overall health and especially to benefit skin, hair, and nails. I got a sample of their grass fed beef collagen and their collagen beauty greens, which is a blend of greens with marine collagen.
GliSODin Skin Nutrients – This brand promotes beauty from the inside out with natural supplements made from the highest quality ingredients for both anti-aging and pre & post surgery recovery formulas.
Genome Hair Amplification – Hair care products can be a tough find and especially those that help to regrow hair. I know so many of us can benefit from a good hair care line that encourages healthy, natural hair regrowth and I cannot wait to try this one for myself.
Visha Skincare – Dermatologist Dr. Patel developed this line and after seeing her skin I couldn’t wait to try her line of products. While this is not a totally organic brand, this is a much safer alternative to traditional products to prevent acne such as Rodan and Fields or other hard products that bleach your skin.
Tracie Martyn – Tracie Martyn is a well-known skincare specialist with a high-end spa that many celebrities frequent. In a few short minutes I saw a huge difference in my skin when they did a quick treatment on one hand compared to the other. Less redness, smoother, shinier than my other untouched hand – I made sure I was reaching for samples with my “good” hand for the rest of the show.
London Brush Company – With so many types of brushes I was happy to come across this great brand that has only great quality products with so much variety. This includes vegan, sable and my favorite – squirrel hair brushes.
Thorn & Bloom – Made from natural essential oils and branded beautifully, I loved running into Jennifer at this show and experiencing her perfumes on my skin. While synthetic fragrances can cause serious hard to the endocrine system, there’s nothing to worry about even when you apply T&B directly to your skin.
This is the event I look forward to all year because it is so much more than a display of products to consider for Lux & Eco but it is also a place where we can go to learn from each other and exchange ideas from some of the most knowledgeable and influential people in the field. If you have the chance to attend the Indie Beauty Expo (they have expos throughout the U.S., not just in New York) I highly suggest you do so.
