Last night West Hollywood’s ritzy Chateau Marmont was the epicenter of Oscar buzz, though the movies had little to do with it. Following up Global Green’s party the evening before, a similar crowd came together with one particular aspect of sustainability in mind: fashion. For the second year in a row, Suzy Amis Cameron, founder of Red Carpet Green Dress, held a gala awarding the top designers in eco-friendly formalwear, which will then debut on the red carpet come Oscar night.
Also the founder of the MUSE school, Cameron is a visionary both in the eco-world and in Hollywood, and believes in using that power to send a message: that glitz and glamor don’t have to come at a cost to the environment. The biggest celebrities and names in sustainable brands help to put on the Red Carpet Green Dress event in an effort to make the message more mainstream until one day the entire red carpet is turned green. of course, Lux & Eco headlined that list of sponsors. From the preparation to the press, to the auction items and gift bags, we were honored to assist Cameron in her efforts to readjust the spotlight onto the right kind of attention. Here are some highlights from last night!
“We are excited to have Lux & Eco as our partner and event planner for the second consecutive year – their company ethos and mission values are in perfect alignment with ours,” says Suzy Amis Cameron, pictured above at last night’s RCGD gala with husband, esteemed director James Cameron. “Combining luxury and eco-lifestyle effortlessly, Lux & Eco makes it easier for conscious consumers to make design led choices.”

American Sniper‘s Jack McDorman, with Suzy Amis Cameron to his left, addresses the packed Chateau Marmont guests on his commitment to eco-fashion and using celebrity for greater good. He will be wearing a sustainably made tuxedo this Sunday on the red carpet as an ambassador for RCGD!
Packed neatly in our signature totes were the hand selected gifts from our line of luxury products for guests to take home with them. The bags included our favorite products from: Veev Vodka, Jax Coco, Under the Canopy towels, I AM Nutrition, Purely Elizabeth, Zhi Tea, Marulagold Hair Care, Makana Candles, Modern Minerals, Pascha Chocolate, and Leafware.
Throughout the night prizes were given away from Modern Minerals Make Up, Slvrbk Yoga Mats, and The Garwood Watches. Two other partners of Lux & Eco, the Setai Spa of Wall Street and Exhale Spa (nationwide), offered up exclusive packages that guests could purchase only at the RCGD event. As mentioned earlier, we also held an auction in which guests bid on luxury travel packages to the most esteemed and eco-friendly resorts and spas Costa Rica has to offer: Oxygen Jungle Villas and Tabacon Hot Springs.
“Costa Rica is a country that has deeply inspired me and also inspired the creation of Lux & Eco,” said our founder, Jacquelyn Willard. “Their cultural respect for their rich ecosystem, and their aspirations to be the greenest country on Earth is something that we can admire and aspire to achieve around the world.”
